I was sent this M.A.C palette in the post a few weeks ago & i’m so excited to post about it. This little gem has become one of my favourite palettes over the last few weeks. I find myself reaching for it to do a quick smokey eye or any purple/red toned look (which is everyday basically).
This palette starts off with some great matte shadows that are perfect for blending, the veluxe pearls are my favourites for an awesome halo eye. I actually already own a few of the matte shadows, Sketch and star violet with is an awesome bright pink/brown shadows. The lustre shadows are awesome as an inner corner highlight, or spotted in the middle of the eye (can you tell i’m obsessed with the halo eye look yet?). I’m really into using embark for EVERYTHING lately. It’s the dark matte brown I never had. I use it to smoke out & darken the edges of my eyeshadow all the time.
One thing I didn’t realize is that these shadows are slightly smaller (0.8g) than the regular MAC shadows (1.5g) but the bright side is it makes this palette totally travel size. I also have my own large MAC palette that I’ve been creating over the years and I would never bring that anywhere with my because it’s just too big and i’m always afraid it’ll break inside my bag. I pop this sturdy little palette into my make up bag for touch ups, or they’re perfect overnight stays. The pigmentation is pretty good but I do recommend all using these shadows with a primer if you want a nice strong payoff, particularly the shadows with shimmer in them.
Let’s do some maths. So you get 9 shadows for €40, so thats €4.40 each which isn’t too bad considering these will last you forever. These shadows are about half the size of the regular MAC eyeshadows that cost about €16.50. So, I would say that’s pretty good value.
Overall I’m really impressed with this little palette! It’s pretty, it fits in my makeup bag and I can use it for everyday looks to super dramatic & evening looks!
