Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette* – €46

I received the Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani palette in the mail a while back and instantly fell in love. Before this I had only seen photos and admittedly I was not totally impressed. I, like everyone else, said ‘ oh a Gwen Stefani palette with mostly neutrals?’ but then I realised if you look at any Gwen Stefani or No Doubt videos, she’s totally a neutral/eyeliner & red lip gal. And I realised this is actually Gwen Stefani in eyeshadow palette form.

The palette is typical Urban Decay quality – awesome. All the shadows have great pigmentation, are vibrant & creamy. I sometimes forget shadows can sometimes be really stiff and hard to blend out for that awesome smokey look! These shadows are totally easy to blend.  We have a variety of types of shadows too. Matte, shimmer & the classic UD chunky glitter shadow.  I’ve tested this numerous times now, I even filmed a very ameatuer YouTube video on one of the looks I did HERE.

I think my number one favourite shadow in the Gwen Stefani palette is ‘Punk’. I’m a sucker for those warm toned red/browns and this one is perfect. Totally matte, mostly brown with that little tint of red that makes blue eyes pop! Followed by ‘Anaheim’, a very light matte brown that is awesome as a transition colour & for blending out shadows, and ‘Baby’ which I kinda impulse used and discovered it’s creamy, metallic sheen of beautiful-ness. I’m also really excited to use ‘Danger’, that shimmery royal blue, in an eye look. Watch this space (or subscribe to my above mentioned YouTube Channel *hint hint*).

As a huge No Doubt & Gwen Stefani fan, I have to mention my love for all the shadows names! ‘Punk’ being the style of music, ‘Harajuku’ the influence behind her solo album L.A.M.B, ‘Steady’ after the song and so many others named after No Doubt hits. It makes me nostalgic & kinda makes me love the palette even more!

So overall verdict – this is a really great palette. It has an amazing mix of shadows. You can use it in the day time for a natural look or in the night for an intense, bright smokey eye. It has glitter, shimmer and matte colours so you are covered for all occasions. The quality of the product is fantastic, along with the the sturdy, durable and very pretty packaging. Not to mention, Urban Decay shadows are creamy, blendable & last forever!

So what’s your verdict on this palette? Have you tried it?

Also, let me know your favourite No Doubt or Gwen Stefani song in the comments!
